When Alexa first came to Gentle Dental, she was very anxious about treatment. She had spoken with another dentist about Braces and invisalign but he just didn’t seem to know enough about Invisalign to make her feel confident about having the treatment. She looked on the Invisalign website and saw Rob was a gold provider so decided to see him.
Alexa had never been happy with her teeth but felt they had become “wonkier” as she got older so she decided to see what, if anything, could be done. She also felt the colour of her teeth was not the whitest, particularly one of her top front teeth, and it was another thing that she felt was getting worse with age.
The discoloured front tooth was a root treated tooth and this was why it was so dark. In order to get it to match in with the other teeth we whitened it from the inside. Using Invisalign we straightened the teeth and with a combination of whitening and replacing discoloured fillings at the front of her moth, gave Alexa the straight, white smile she wanted.
When Paddy first came to Gentle Dental he felt his teeth were a mess and a bad experience with a dentist as a child had left him terrified of coming along. He also had a front tooth knocked out when he was age 7 and had never had anything put in to replace it. He had reached a point in his life where he wanted to be able to smile and confidently say hi to people he met.
Paddy had a lot of tartar built up on his teeth and they were badly stained from smoking. So the starting point was a hygienist visit followed by whitening. The gap at the front on the left was not large enough to put in a full sized tooth so the best option was to use bonding to build up the current tooth so it almost filled the space and to place bonding on the teeth on the right hand side to blend it all in so it looked good. We made sure Paddy knew it was not going to be a’ Hollywood smile’ but nothing prepared him for exactly how good it looks.
In the previous six months Harriet had noticed that her upper left front teeth were overlapping and worried that it might become worse. In her own words she was “Irrationally self-conscious” when she smiled. She was aware that her lower teeth were slightly crooked but these did not bother at all. Often it isn’t possible to just straighten the top teeth but Harriet was lucky and in just six months with Invisalign and whitening her can put her Irrational self-consciousness behind her and smile with confidence.
Kirsty was taking a gap year before uni and had been saving to go travelling. With Corona virus she was unable to go on her planned trips and she decided to spend the money on her teeth instead. She never smiled in photos as she hated the way her front teeth crossed over and she felt this was getting worse all of the time. With very straightforward Invisialign clear braces and whitening treatment Kirsty got her amazing smile in just 12 months.
Laura first plucked up the courage to see us as she had just gotten engaged. She had her teeth straightened as a teenager but the wire retainers behind her teeth broke and they were no longer as straight as they had been and they were stained and discoloured discoloured. Laura decided she could be brave and face the dentist to make sure she could smile with confidence on her wedding day.
The starting point for Laura was a visit with the hygienist to remove all of the staining and plaque from her teeth which made a huge difference straight away. And then Invisalign to straighten. As a finishing touch we also whitened her teeth making sure she could have a beaming smile on her wedding day.
Amy was not a big fan of the dentist based on previous experience elsewhere. To make it worse she didn't like her teeth at all; she felt they were small and crooked. It mainly bothered her when she saw herself in photos and as she goes on a lot of holidays, where lots of photos were taken, it made looking back on them less enjoyable.
In order to give Amy the smile she truly wanted we used Invisalign clear braces and whitening. Now Amy can smile with confidence in every holiday picture and not worry about how she will feel when she looks back on them.
Bryony originally came to us with the situation everyone dreads – a broken tooth at the front of her mouth. The tooth had previously been root treated and as can happen when the nerve is taken out the tooth had darkened over the years. So, to an extent she was happy it had broken as now she would definitely do something about it. She had hated the colour for years and continually worried that the tooth would break off if she bit into anything.
We created this beautiful white smile for Amy with simple tooth whitening and Dental Veneers and loves not having to worry about her teeth breaking.
Annabelle hated the way her lower front teeth were crooked. She’d also had what she knew as a post crown on the top at the front which she felt looked awful. She didn’t like the shape or colour of it and was also nervous about it coming out. One of the hesitations Annabel had was having the impressions taken for braces and making a new crown so the fact that we could use our 3d scanner y sold it to her. No impressions, no ‘goop’ in your mouth, no gagging just a quick scan with a small hand-held wand. She felt this was just perfect.
We used an iTero 3d scanner to create an image of Annabel’s teeth for the laboratory and they used this digital image to make Invisalign clear braces for her. We were able to use the Invisalign to move the front teeth a little so that we could make a beautiful natural looking crown and have both front teeth evenly sized. We also whitened Annabel’s teeth before we made the crown and now she has the beautiful natural looking smile she always wanted.
When Fiona first came to us there really wasn’t a lot she like about her smile. She was conscious of her crooked front teeth and aware that as she had gotten older, she was showing more of her lower teeth when she smiles. These were also crooked and she found it really difficult to keep them clean. Every photo she looked at all Fiona could focus on was the tartar visible between her bottom teeth.
Fiona had lots of silver fillings as a child and disliked that her back teeth looked black and finally the crown she had on her top front teeth was a different colour to her other teeth and had a black line at the top which she felt looked awful. As we said really not a lot that she liked. Fiona hated smiling, was losing her confidence and really felt the whole thing was hopeless.
It was a long journey for Fiona, lasting two years but she is now so happy with her beautiful smile. We used a combination of Invisalign clear braces, Hygienist visits, white fillings, whitening and a new crown to give Fiona her perfect smile. She can now smile confidently and is feeling a million dollars.
Jennie saw our hygienist, Niamh, regularly but was concerned at how difficult it was to clean her teeth because of the overcrowding. She also liked how bright her teeth felt after an airflow treatment and wanted to make them whiter as well. With a combination of hygienist visits, teeth whitening and Invisalign clear braces Jenny is managing to keep her gum health in top condition really easily. And into the bargain she has a beautiful smile. Win, win!
Emily was 18 when she first came to see us. She was very self-conscious as she felt a front side tooth stuck out and made the front one look like it was pointing backwards. This as well as the fact that she thought her teeth looked yellow meant she never smiled in photographs and even avoided them where possible. Using Invisalign clear braces and teeth whitening we give Emily the smile she has always dreamed of. As you can see from the picture, smiling and having photos taken are no longer an issue for her.
Lettitia came to us wanting a nice, white, healthy smile. Using veneers and whitening we were able to give Lettitia the look she was hoping for in just 3 months. She now smiles with great confidence.
Ray woke up one morning 8 years ago and at well over 20 stone he realised he had to do something about his weight or he was going to suffer. Since then he has lost 13 and a half stone to get himself healthy and then he thought it was time to do something about his smile. On his first visit, after seeing Niamh the hygienist, he said that what he wanted was his teeth to look just like hers. Using a combination of crowns, bridges and dentures we were able to achieve what Ray hoped for. It is a joy to see how happy and confident it has made him. I don’t think he has stopped smiling since!
Sue was aware her teeth did not look right but just hadn’t worked up the courage to have anything done. Then her front tooth broke and she knew she couldn’t live with that. There was a lot of decay present and her teeth were quite stained from smoking. She had a few visits with Niamh, our hygienist, and then Rob carried out bonding using tooth coloured filling material. We hope you agree that the result is simply fabulous.
When Cliff first came to see us, he wasn’t unhappy with his smile and thought perhaps at some stage he might like the teeth whiter. We explained this would mean redoing the crown on his front tooth so he decided he was happy to leave it. Rob asked Cliff if he had noticed that the tips of his teeth were wearing away/flattening and he hadn’t realised.
He explained that there was an excessive amount of wear for someone so young and that likely he would get problems in the future. 2 years later the crystal ball proved correct. Due to the grinding, the crown on the top front tooth broke.
The starting point was to whiten the teeth and then using crowns and veneers Rob recreated Cliffs smile and you can see the effect that has on the shape and balance of Cliffs face. This work was done in 2019 and still looks every bit as good today as it did then.
Gillian hadn’t been to the dentist for years because she felt ashamed of her teeth and was worried she would get a lecture about how bad her teeth were. But when yet another tooth at the front broke, she plucked up the courage to contact us to see if we could help her.
Her heart’s desire was to be able to feel confident to go out for a meal with her kids and grandkids, something she hadn’t done for years because of her teeth. Using a combination of crowns and bridges, Rob not only gave her back her smile but also the confidence to see more of her family and enjoy her life going out and about.
